The short version
- We store your work entries, reports, days off and settings in your account so they’re backed up and available on your devices.
- Screenshots and PDFs you add are read on your device and stay there. They are not uploaded.
- If you import from GitHub, only the pull requests and issues you confirm are saved, and we never store your GitHub access.
- We don’t sell your data, show ads or use tracking cookies.
- You can export or delete your data at any time.
- Studying with Weekscope? Your log and weekly reviews are yours: nobody else sees them unless you choose to share them.
Who we are
Weekscope is run by Mr Max Designs (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at max@mrmaxdesigns.com.
What we collect
Account details. Your email address and, if you sign in with Google or GitHub, the basic profile those services share (such as your name and profile picture). We never see or store your Google or GitHub password. If you upload your own profile picture, a small copy is saved with your settings.
Your Weekscope content. The work entries, weekly reports, days off and settings you create. This can include project names, ticket references and notes about your work, and the workplace, projects, working days and reminder times you choose in Settings. If you use Weekscope to study, it’s your subjects, study tasks, deadlines and exam dates instead, and whether you chose Work or Study.
GitHub imports. If you import from GitHub, your browser asks GitHub for the pull requests and issues for the week you pick. If you connect your GitHub account, GitHub gives your browser a temporary access token: we keep it in memory for that visit only and never save it. If you enter a username instead, only public activity is read. Nothing is saved until you review the items and confirm, and then only the items you chose, as entries in your account.
Technical information. Our hosting and database providers keep standard service logs (for example IP address, browser type and request times) to operate and secure the service.
What stays on your device. Files you attach (screenshots, PDFs) are read in your browser and stored only in your browser’s storage. A copy of your content is also kept in your browser so Weekscope works quickly and offline. So is the focus timer: its rounds are never sent to us. The orb’s voice is recordings that come with Weekscope, and reading aloud uses your device’s own voices: nothing you write is sent anywhere to be spoken.
Speaking an entry. When you speak an entry instead of typing it, your browser turns what you say into text, on your device whenever it can. If it can’t, Weekscope asks you first, and only then does your browser send the audio to its own speech service to get the words back (Chrome uses Google’s). We never receive or keep the audio; only the words you save are stored, like any other entry.
How we use it
- To provide Weekscope: signing you in, saving and syncing your content, and generating your reports.
- To send account emails: a welcome email when you join, sign-in links and codes, the weekly reminders you switch on, and one catch-up reminder on Saturday when your week isn’t complete (you can turn it off in Settings). Reminder emails only say how many workdays are missing and whether your report exists — never what you worked on.
- To keep the service secure and working, and to fix problems.
- To reply when you contact us.
Our legal basis
Where data protection laws such as the GDPR or POPIA apply, we process your information to perform our agreement with you (providing the service you signed up for) and for our legitimate interest in keeping Weekscope secure and reliable.
If you use Weekscope with your organisation
When you join an organisation in Weekscope, its admins see:
- the reports you submit to them, and when you sent them;
- simple counts: when you were last active, how many days you logged in a week and whether your report came in;
- only if the organisation turns on time sharing: your projects, tickets, statuses and time — hours per day, week and project, and timers while they run. Weekscope tells you when it’s on.
Your notes, descriptions, links and attached files are never shared with your organisation.
Tasks you mark as personal are yours alone. They’re never in a report, and nothing your organisation sees includes them: not your days logged, not shared time, not Day flow. Nor do Weekscope’s own admins see them, even in totals. Use Weekscope for the rest of your day too.
If an organisation is deleted, everything it holds is deleted with it: who was in it, its invitations, the reports sent to it, overtime requests, its messages and tasks, its activity and settings. Everyone’s account and own log stay theirs. We keep only a short record that it existed and why and when it was deleted — never what was in it.
If you use Weekscope to study
Weekscope for students (Study in Settings) works on the same account and the same rules as everything above, and:
- Your log, your study streak, the time you spend on each subject and your weekly reviews are seen only by you.
- Tasks you mark as personal are never in a review, nor anything anyone else sees.
- If you join the leaderboards, only what you choose is shown there: your name, a username or an anonymous name, a picture if you pick one, your points and your streak. Never what you studied. You can leave at any time from Settings.
- Schools, colleges, universities and teachers can’t see anything of yours today. When classes come to Weekscope, we’ll update this policy first, and Weekscope will tell you exactly what a teacher or school can see before you join one. Joining will always be your choice, and personal tasks will never be part of it.
Cookies and browser storage
Weekscope uses your browser’s storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences such as the sidebar layout, and keep a working copy of your content for speed and offline use. These are essential for the service. We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your content for as long as you have an account, so you can come back to it months later. If you delete your account, we delete your content from our active systems straight away, and it is removed from backups within 30 days.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Database access rules keep each account’s content separate, so signed-in users can only read their own records. No system is perfectly secure, so please don’t store passwords, API keys or other secrets in Weekscope.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your information, or to object to how we use it.
- Export everything as a JSON backup from Settings at any time.
- Edit or delete individual entries and reports in the app.
- Delete your account and its content from Settings.
For anything else, contact us at max@mrmaxdesigns.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
International transfers
Our providers may store and process information in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Children and young people
Weekscope is for people aged 16 and over, including students. It isn’t meant for children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think someone under 16 has an account, contact us at max@mrmaxdesigns.com and we’ll delete it.
If you’re under 18, we suggest telling a parent or guardian that you use Weekscope, and showing them this policy.
Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes, we’ll update the date above and let you know in the app before they take effect.
