Mission Brief

Kamiliyon - which shipped as colorsbymax, and was published under that name until 0.7.0 - recolors a live site from the browser. It carries over 700 ready-made palettes, lets you build your own, and checks every pairing it produces against WCAG contrast thresholds as you go - so a theme that looks good is also one people can read. It runs on any page as a drop-in, and ships as a published npm package.

Key Features

Themes, on a site you do not own

  • Recolor live: point it at a page and change its whole palette without touching the source.
  • 700+ palettes: a library to try, not a blank canvas to stare at.
  • Pick from the page: click any color already on the site - a button, the background, some text - and get five themes built around it.
  • Custom palettes: build one, save it, use it again.

Readable by default

  • WCAG contrast checks: every pairing is measured, so a theme that fails is one you know about.
  • Light and dark: both modes from the same palette rather than two sets of decisions.
